Cycling Day 4

Continental Breakfast and ready to go at 0930 hr. Easy to fall into a routine. This will be our last day. Legs and bum are feeling better as I am getting used to it. Let me tell you, I have not have a bath (only showers) for over 10 years and I just have 3 baths in a row. That wobbly feeling getting of the bike after 10 km isn’t all that enjoyable.

Straight down the driveway and turned the corner to see a giant dead rat as roadkill. Not attractive but amazed at tis size! It was an easier ride today as there wasn’t as many hills as the previous days. We could not find any where which served coffee as it was Sunday (but they are not in church despite urgent bell ringing etc). Sunday is obviously the best to attack France because if they can’t be bothered to serve coffee, then they are certainly not manning the ramparts!

Finally got a coffee at Chinon which was much needed. Had a baguette and salami lunch on the banks of the river before the final 10 kms to the Chateau. As usual it was a bitch of a climb to the Chateau. These frogs really know how knife you in the heart.

Finally made it to the Chateau Macay. Debbie is full of cold. Poor thing. She and I crashed for a good 2 hour sleep. Going down to dinner and it will be early to bed I reckon.

We get our hire car tomorrow and will probably drive around.
