Le Lavandou and St Tropez

Started off relatively early. No breakfast but we were on the road by 0830 hrs. We had to drag the bags to the carpark in multiple trips but we managed it int he end. Harry opted to drive and it was very stressful getting out of the car park as the lanes were very narrow and it would have been really easy to scrape the walls. Harry did really well and we got out unscathed. On tech road again. I reckon that France is on big TOLL. Every road seems to be a toll road. IT was a major pain! It was even worse when the girls decided to divert to the village of Le Lavandou which is on the water front.

We arrived just in time for a snack and drinks. Lots of old people all over the place. People watched with our lunch. Caught a couple of big game but I am sure they are of the migratory species, which is a little disappointing.

Then we drove onto to St Tropez which is famous for all the famous people. It was wall to wall mega yacths. The amount of money was obscene. It was not mu favourite place as it was like visiting a safari park. Instead of wildlife, we were on the lookout for celebrities! Everyone tried to look rich and famous. Lots of botox and even more collagen and plastic. It was all very unreal to me. Not my scene!

Then Deb discovered that we had no accommodation for the night! WTF! Thank god for the internet. She did really well in booking 2 rooms at a hotel 30 mins from St Tropez. It turned out to the a very nice place. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was fabulous and we had a great evening.

Bed and onto Cannes tomorrow.
